developed by BPS Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah, collects, uses, stores, and protects
your information when you use our mobile application.
⚠️ IMPORTANT - Background Location Usage:
This app collects location data even when the app is closed or not in use to enable
continuous GPS tracking for field service monitoring. This is a core feature of the application and
cannot be disabled while tracking is active.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Location Data (INCLUDING BACKGROUND LOCATION)
Our app collects precise location data (GPS coordinates) for the following purposes:
- Real-time GPS tracking: Continuous monitoring of field personnel movements during work assignments
- Route recording: Automatic capture of travel paths, distance, and duration
- Geofencing: Service area verification and boundary monitoring
- Location history: Storage of past routes for reporting and analysis
- Supervisor monitoring: Real-time visibility of field team locations (if applicable)
- Photo geotagging: Embedding GPS coordinates into photo metadata for documentation purposes
🌍 Background Location Collection:
Location is collected
continuously while tracking is active, including when:
- The app is minimized or in the background
- Your device screen is locked or turned off
- You are using other applications
- Your device is idle
Collection starts: When you tap "Start Tracking"
Collection stops: When you tap "Stop Tracking" or "Pause"
1.2 Camera and Photos
When you use the camera feature during tracking sessions, we collect and process:
- Camera access: Permission to capture photos using your device camera
- Photos: Images taken during tracking for field documentation
- Photo metadata:
- Timestamp (date and time when photo was taken)
- GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude where photo was captured)
- Device information (camera model, image resolution)
- User annotations: Optional notes, captions, or descriptions you add to photos
- Activity context: The tracking activity name associated with the photo
📸 Camera Permission Usage:
Camera permission is used
ONLY for:
- ✅ Taking documentation photos during active tracking sessions
- ✅ Field visit verification and incident reporting
- ❌ NOT used for facial recognition or biometric scanning
- ❌ NOT used for video recording or live streaming
- ❌ NOT accessed when tracking is inactive
1.3 Photo Storage and Retention
Local Storage (On Your Device):
- Photos are stored in your device's internal storage at:
/Android/data/com.bpsbenteng.lintasbentengv3/files/Pictures/LintasBenteng_Photos/
- This folder is app-specific and not accessible by other apps
- Photos are stored locally until you manually delete them or uninstall the app
- App updates: Photos remain intact when you update the app
- App uninstall: All photos are automatically deleted when you uninstall the app
Cloud Storage (Firebase Storage):
- Photos are uploaded to Google Firebase Storage when you choose to sync or submit them
- Cloud-stored photos are accessible by:
- You (the photo owner)
- Your organization's administrators (if applicable)
- Authorized team members with proper permissions
- Cloud photos are retained until you request deletion or your account is terminated
⚠️ Important Notes About Photo Storage:
- No automatic cloud backup: Photos are NOT automatically backed up to cloud services unless you explicitly sync them
- Manual deletion required: Deleting the app will remove all local photos permanently
- No external access: Photos cannot be accessed by other apps or file managers without root access
- Size limitations: Each photo is limited to 10 MB in size
1.4 Device Information
We automatically collect certain device information:
- Device model and manufacturer
- Operating system version (Android)
- Device unique identifiers (Android ID, Installation ID)
- Network connection type (WiFi, mobile data)
- IP address
- Battery level and status
- Camera hardware information (for photo capture optimization)
1.5 Usage Data and Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase to collect:
- App usage statistics (features used, screen views, session duration)
- Performance metrics (app crashes, errors, loading times)
- User interactions (button clicks, navigation patterns)
- Camera usage frequency (how often camera feature is used)
- Advertising ID: Google Advertising ID (GAID) for analytics purposes only
Important: We DO NOT use your Advertising ID for personalized advertising or ad targeting.
1.6 Account Information
When you log in using Google Sign-In or create an account, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Profile photo (if provided by Google)
- User role (admin, field worker, etc.)
- Organization/company affiliation

We collect information related to notifications:
- Device push notification token (for Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- Notification delivery status
- User interaction with notifications (opened, dismissed)
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Core App Functionality
- GPS Tracking: Record and display real-time location and routes
- Distance Calculation: Compute travel distance and duration
- Route Visualization: Display paths on interactive maps
- Photo Documentation:
- Capture field visit evidence and site documentation
- Attach location data to photos for verification
- Create timestamped photo records for reporting
- History Storage: Save tracking sessions and photos for future reference
- Team Monitoring: Enable supervisors to view field team locations and photos (if authorized)
2.2 Service Improvement
- Analyze app usage patterns to improve features
- Identify and fix bugs or performance issues
- Optimize battery usage, camera performance, and location accuracy
- Develop new features based on user needs
2.3 Communication
- Send push notifications for event reminders and updates
- Alert users of system status or service disruptions
- Provide customer support responses
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
3.1 Within Your Organization
If you are part of an organization using Lintas Benteng:
- Supervisors/Admins: May view your real-time location, tracking history, and uploaded photos
- Team Members: May see your location on shared monitoring dashboards
- Reports: Your tracking data and photos may be included in organizational reports
3.2 Third-Party Services
We share limited data with the following third-party services:

3.4 What We DON'T Share
We DO NOT:

- ❌ Use your photos for facial recognition or AI training without consent
- ❌ Share your photos with advertising networks or marketing companies
- ❌ Use your camera or location data for purposes other than stated above
- ❌ Use your Advertising ID for personalized ads
4. Data Retention
4.1 Active Data
- Tracking Sessions: Stored indefinitely until you manually delete them
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active
- Photos (Local): Stored on your device until:
- You manually delete them from the app
- You uninstall the app (all local photos deleted automatically)
- Photos (Cloud): Stored in Firebase Storage until:
- You request deletion through the app
- Your account is deleted
- Your organization requests removal (if applicable)
4.2 Inactive Accounts
If you do not use the app for 2 years, we may delete:
- Old tracking history (older than 2 years)
- Inactive account data (after 3 years of inactivity)
- Cloud-stored photos from inactive accounts (after 2 years)
4.3 Analytics Data
Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google's default retention policies (typically 2-14 months).
5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
5.1 Camera Permission Control
- Grant/Revoke: Enable or disable camera access in:
Android Settings → Apps → Lintas Benteng → Permissions → Camera
- Impact of Revoking: You will not be able to take documentation photos, but GPS tracking will still work
- Selective Access: Camera is only requested when you tap the camera button during tracking
5.2 Location Data Control
- Start/Stop Tracking: You control when location collection begins and ends
- Android Settings: Revoke location permissions in:
Android Settings → Apps → Lintas Benteng → Permissions → Location
- Background Location: Change to "Allow only while using the app" (tracking features will be limited)
⚠️ Impact of Revoking Permissions:
- Location: Core tracking features will NOT work
- Camera: Photo documentation will be disabled, but tracking will continue
5.3 Photo Management
- View Photos: Access your photo gallery in the app
- Delete Individual Photos: Long-press on a photo and select "Delete"
- Delete All Photos: Use the "Clear All Photos" option in settings
- Download Photos: Save photos to your device's main gallery (if feature is available)
- Cloud Sync Control: Choose which photos to upload to cloud storage
5.4 Data Access and Deletion
You have the right to:
- View Your Data: Access your tracking history and photos in the app
- Delete Tracking History: Remove individual sessions or all history
- Delete Account: Request full account deletion (includes all photos and data)
- Export Data: Request a copy of your tracking data and photos
5.5 Advertising ID
You can reset or opt-out of interest-based advertising:
- Go to: Android Settings → Google → Ads
- Tap "Reset advertising ID" or enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

Control notifications in:
- Android Settings → Apps → Lintas Benteng → Notifications
- In-app notification settings (if available)
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your photos and data:
6.1 Technical Safeguards
- Encryption in Transit: All data (including photos) transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Encryption at Rest:
- Cloud photos encrypted in Firebase Storage using AES-256
- Local photos stored in app-specific encrypted directory
- Secure Authentication: Google Sign-In with OAuth 2.0
- Access Controls: Role-based permissions for viewing photos and tracking data
- Photo Integrity: Original photo metadata preserved to prevent tampering
6.2 Physical and Organizational Safeguards
- Limited employee access to user photos and data
- Regular security audits and updates
- Secure development practices and code reviews
- Monitoring for unauthorized access attempts
6.3 Limitations
While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information or photos.
7. Children's Privacy
Lintas Benteng is NOT intended for use by children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information, photos, or location data from children under 13.
If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

8. International Data Transfers
Your data (including photos and location data) may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside
your country of residence, including in the United States (where Google Firebase servers are located).
By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different
data protection laws than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective when:
- Posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
- Announced in the app (for material changes)
- Notified via email or push notification (for significant changes)
